The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has developed its Property Preservation Resource Center. This webpage provides municipalities with resources to identify direct points of contacts at loan servicing organization for issues pertaining to safety and security at vacant and abandoned properties.

In addition, a large number of municipalities and other agencies have been utilizing the MERS database to register vacant properties. The MERS initiative allows properties registered through this system to bypass any hard-copy registrations.
