March 4th, 2010
The US Department of the Treasury has released the following HAMP Update titled,
Updated HAMP FAQs Available
Updated HAMP FAQs Available
The Supplemental Documentation -- Frequently Asked Questions document has been updated and is posted on HMPadmin.com. The updates include new FAQs as well as revisions to existing questions (both are clearly labeled for your convenience). All servicers participating in the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) should review these for important updates and clarifications to the program.
Additionally, a new numbering system for the FAQs has been implemented to better organize and improve usability of the document. The FAQ numbering is now:
- Categorized -- Each section (e.g., General, Borrower Eligibility, etc.) has its own unique number range
- Static -- Assigned FAQ numbers will remain the same even when new FAQs are published
- Identical -- FAQ numbers for both GSE and non-GSE versions will be the same
