HAMP Updates to Servicers Certification Dates
May 27th, 2010
The U.S. Department of the Treasury released a HAMP Update titled, Updates to Servicer Certification Dates.
Updates to Servicer Certification Dates
Servicers participating in the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) are required per their Servicer Participation Agreement (SPA) to submit annual Certifications stating their continued compliance with the program and validating the accuracy of their data. The Certifications were initially due on June 1, 2010, and required each year after (also on June 1) during the term of the SPA.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury is in the process of updating the Certification requirements and has revised the servicer Certification dates accordingly.
Revised Certification Dates
- Servicers that signed a SPA on/before October 31, 2009 -- Certification Due Date will be September 30, 2010 to certify program compliance as of June 30, 2010
- Servicers that signed a SPA on/after November 1, 2009 -- Certification Due Date will be March 31, 2011 to certify program compliance as of December 31, 2010
- Servicers that signed a SPA on/after July 1, 2010 -- Certification Due Date will be September 30, 2011 to certify program compliance as of June 30, 2011
Additional guidance on the revised requirements and content of the Certification will be available soon and will be communicated to servicers as soon as possible.
