HAMP Update

December 14th, 2010

The U.S. Department of the Treasury issued a HAMP Update titled, Escalation Case Submission Process Change.

HAMP Update: Escalation Case Submission Process Change
Previously, when Fannie Mae, as program administrator for the Making Home Affordable (MHA) Program, communicated with servicers and third-party advocates regarding escalation cases involving non-GSE loans, several types of information were provided. This information included: borrower name, property address, servicer's loan number, the unique case ID, and any supporting attachments.

To reduce risks associated with disclosing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to an unintended recipient, Fannie Mae is now communicating limited information to servicers and third-party advocates. Servicers and third-party advocates should expect only the servicer loan number in MHA-related communications. Attachments will be provided on a case-by-case basis.
