Dewinterization

While a winterization is important to prevent damage, there are times when it needs to be reversed.  In the cases of sales inspections or home repairs, the property often needs to be dewinterized.  Brokers also request dewinterization during mild weather to increase marketability of the property.  In these cases, the utilities are turned back on and water is restored to the plumbing system.  The system is also flushed of antifreeze.  A winterization is completed again once the work has been completed or winterization season begins. Safeguard’s contractors are instructed to stay in constant communication with the local listing agent throughout the dewinterization process, particularly when the dewinterization is being completed for a closing inspection.
