Property Registration

Jurisdictions throughout the country are proposing, enacting, repealing and enforcing ordinances that require the registration of vacant residential properties, as well as those in foreclosure.

To effectively address blight, many jurisdictions are including both residentially and commercially zoned properties within their ordinances.

Safeguard tracks and maintains more than 3,000 ordinances on our property registration matrix, including rental property registration requirements. This matrix includes the status of the ordinance, registration time and fees, documents, and more. Safeguard also completes property registrations, on behalf of our mortgage servicing clients, when we are the vendor responsible for inspecting and/or maintaining the property.
