New Orleans Blighted Properties

The City of New Orleans has published a listing of properties that the City wishes to declare as blighted (Previously discussed here).

These cases are going to be heard at The Bureau of Administrative Adjudication in the Division of Neighborhood One of the City of New Orleans

The purpose of these hearings are to determine if the properties should be declared blighted  or a public nuisance pursuant to the City Code. If the property is declared blighted it is eligible for expropriation and if the property is declared a public nuisance it is eligible for demolition.

The owner of property which is declared blighted or public nuisance, is subject to civil penalties and criminal penalties pursuant to the Code of the City of New Orleans.
