Comprehensive Housing Market Analysis
Thursday, 22 February 2007

The Office of Policy Development and Research for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has recently released comprehensive housing market analysis for Austin-Round Rock, Texas; Pueblo, Colo.; Sacramento, Calif.; Savannah, Ga.; and Tyler, Texas.

The Economic and Market Analysis Division prepares these analyses to assist the department in its operations. The information, findings, and forecasts contained in the reports should also prove useful to builders, mortgagees, and others concerned with local housing conditions and trends.

For each analysis, HUD economists develop a factual framework that takes into account changes in the economic, demographic, and housing inventory characteristics of a specific housing market area during three periods: from 1990 to 2000, from 2000 to the as-of date of the analysis, and from the as-of date to a forecast date.
