City of Detroit Next Detroit Neighborhood Initiative.

Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick recently unveiled details of his Next Detroit Neighborhood Initiative.

This initiative will target 6 specific neighborhoods where vacancy rates are at 15%.
The neighborhoods, Northend, Brightmoor, Grand River-Greenfield, the Osborn community, Seven Mile-Livernois and East English Village each have varying issues that plague the communities. Some of the initiatives being discussed are increased demolitions, code violations and removal of abandoned automobiles.
