Safeguard Announces Artistic Boarding Initiative
Friday, 15 June 2007

Cost effective artistic boarding delivers enhanced curb appeal to vacant properties nationwide

Safeguard Properties is pleased to announce that they have begun an innovative initiative to provide artistic boarding options for vacant properties around the country.  Safeguard,  a Field Services Industry leader,  has been recognized for their ability to create and implement innovative solutions that greatly enhance the mortgage loan servicing sectors ability to efficiently and cost effectively maintain their collateral interest in defaulted properties.  Initial research and analysis has shown that the cost for artistic boarding is competitive with traditional boarding techniques.  In utilizing these cost effective artistic boarding options, Safeguard intends to provide the loan services industry with boarding alternatives that can greatly enhance the curb appeal of their vacant property portfolio, create positive public relations with cities and municipalities,  and literally change the face of vacant properties nationwide.

Artistic boarding is a simple idea with powerful implications.  It can help transform cities one vacant property at a time, help to revitalize neighborhoods blighted with vacancy and preserve valuable housing stock. Within these artistic boarding options, windows are secured with artistically engineered boarding material that appears to look like windows. Artistic boarding has been proven to greatly enhance the security and curb appeal of vacant properties.  Safeguard will begin the initiative by performing a pilot project in various Cleveland, Ohio neighborhoods and if successful, begin a nationwide rollout following approval by loan servicers and investors.

Robert Klein, Founder and CEO of Safeguard Properties expressed his excitement over the newly created initiative by stating "Safeguard has continually led collaborative cost effective industry initiatives designed to assist our clients and local governments in dealing with the neighborhood blight that result from vacant properties.  Safeguard and our loan servicing clients have proactively worked with city officials around the country to maintain the integrity of vacant properties and we see artistic boarding as a further maturing of our initiatives. We are excited about the possibilities that these cost neutral artistic boarding options can bring to vacant property blight in cities around the country."
