AFN's 5th Annual Leadership & Default Conference

The American Legal & Financial Network's (AFN) 5th Annual Leadership & Default Conference will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2007 - Thursday, July 19, 2007.

The conference will feature a session moderated by Robert Klein, CEO Safeguard Properties Inc. discussing how the mortgage servicing industry is addressing and responding to the negative impact vacant and abandoned properties in foreclosure and REO are having on the industry.

Session Agenda:
Robert Klein, CEO Safeguard Properties Inc.:  Review of the ongoing dialog that has been created between the lenders, code enforcement and the city officials. 

Panelists include:
Jennifer Feickert  Wilshire Credit Corp.  AVP Asset Preservation & Disaster Relief:  Review of topics such as home ownership preservation and loss mitigation, with emphasis on the misconception that the lenders want the homeowners out of the properties prior to foreclosure.  Overview on some of the creative ways that she and Wilshire Credit Corp. are attempting to avoid foreclosure.  

Caroline Reaves Mortgage Contracting Services COO/President Asset Management:  Review of the servicer role and its ability to address code violations while the loan is in the delinquency stage and has not yet gone to sale.

Frank Veneziano Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., L.P.A. Managing Partner:  Review of several process initiatives developed whilst working with Cleveland Housing Court Judge Raymond Pianka.  Sharing of experiences surrounding the inundation of foreclosures with the courts as well as the filing of the deeds in Cuyahoga County OH, one of the nations highest ranking foreclosure counties.
 
Jonathon Engman  Attny Fabrizio & Brook, LLC:  Review of issues unique to the City of Detroit. Creative solutions to ongoing concerns such as the issue of repeated trespassers and squatters.
