Safeguard has recently revised its documentation procedures for bid submissions expanding the information requirements when submitting a HUD OA, request to Exceed Cost Limits for Preservation and Protection. The purpose of these revisions is to enhance our Quality Control procedures ensuring adequate audit trails for our clients and HUD that no conflicts of interest exist when submitting 1st and 2nd bids.
Previously, procedures only required 2nd bids to be submitted directly from the contractor to the servicer (click here) as the 1st bidder was Safeguard.
We have revised the Procedures and Form to require the following information on all bids being submitted by Safeguard;
• Client's name and address as the "Servicer"
• Contractor who provided the bid, name, address and contact information, as the "Bid by"
• Safeguard's Client Liaisons phone and fax number as the "Submitted By".
These revisions will clearly provide a audit trail for all bids being submitted to our clients on HUD properties.
