Artistic Boarding Securing II
Monday, 25 February 2008

The negative effects boarded properties have on communities throughout the country can be devastating and far-reaching. These effects, a primary factor of urban blight, are increasingly being discussed in the media that is so strongly focused on the foreclosure crisis.

Many ongoing discussions center around ways to minimize the number of vacant and abandoned properties. However the need to protect the integrity of a particular property remains a strong concern.

Safeguard Properties is continuing to investigate cost-effective alternate methods for securing our clients' collateral. The goal remains the continued protection of the properties while mitigating the effects generic boarding has on the surrounding neighborhood.

Prior Pilot Programs utilized painted boards with several affixing methods. The most recent Pilot Project  involves specially designed material than can be affixed to the plywood boards giving the appearance of a window frame.
