NY Senate Bill 7028
Monday, 19 May 2008
NY State Senator Jeff Klein introduced S.B. 7028 that would require the prevailing party in foreclosure action to maintain property in safe and habitable condition.

As of 5/20/08 the Bill is still in the Senate Judiciary under review.

As a follow-up he has released a report on REO properties throughout New York area. The report concludes with a statement urging the passing of S.B. 7028  "in order to effectively deal with the myriad of lending institutions, servicers, and realty companies now holding properties in the New York City, Westchester and Nassau County Area".
