Cuyahoga County Foreclosure Prevention Program Donor Recognition Event

On Friday, June 26th, Safeguard Properties was recognized as a primary donor for a three year, ongoing commitment to the Cuyahoga County Foreclosure Program.  Other donors acknowledged by Treasurer Jim Rokakis included the United Way, Chase Bank, AmTrust, The Cleveland Foundation, Board of Commissioners, Dollar Bank Foundation, Dominion East Ohio, First Energy Foundation, Freddie Mac Foundation, George Gund Foundation, Honorable Eileen Gallagher, Paul Oyaski (Department of Development), Key Foundation, National City Bank, Nord Family Foundation, Sam & Maria Miller Foundation, Sisters of Charity Foundation, St. Luke’s Foundation, Stein Family Foundation, Third Federal, and US Bank. 

  • Other members in attendance included, but were not limited to, representatives from Cleveland State University, Neighborhood Housing Services, Cleveland Housing Network, ESOP, and Neighborhood Progress Inc.

Presentation Overview

  • Paul Bellamy, with the Cuyahoga County Prevention Program, offered an overview of the Program’s goals and major accomplishments over the past year. 
     
  • State Representative Mike Foley shared an overview of HB 3, which includes a foreclosure moratorium for troubled homeowners within the State of Ohio.  Having passed in the House, the Bill is currently awaiting passage in the Senate.  Rep. Foley invited those in attendance to be more involved with this and future related pieces of legislation designed to protect homeowners from the negative impacts of foreclosure and to review and support change to the overall foreclosure process.
