City of St. Louis Announces New Policy re: Evictions, Disposal of Personal Property
Tuesday, 28 June 2005

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay's office issued a press release earlier this month announcing that the city will begin enforcing a policy prohibiting landlords from dumping the belongings of evicted tenants at the curb.

The new policy took effect June 13, 2005.  Penalties for violators can include a fine of up to $500 and up to 90 days in jail.  In addition, the city will bill the landlord for the cost to remove the dumped property from the street.
