VA Cleveland RLC Update re: P&P Expenses/Allowables
Tuesday, 05 July 2005

The VA Cleveland Regional Loan Center has issued a new information letter concerning expenses for preservation of security.  Information Letter 26-05-03 rescinds Information Letter 26-03-13 and contains the following substantive changes:

On page three of the letter, under the heading Property Preservation, the following language has been added:

- Photos are required to support excessive charges for debris removal.  However, the cost of these photos is not reimbursable on the claim.

On page three of the letter, under lockset installation, where the previous letter included language requiring the delivery of keys to VA in order to receive reimbursement, this letter includes no such language.

The allowable for yard maintenance is now $75 for initial cuts and $50 for recuts, across the board.  The cost schedule no longer establishes separate pricing for City Lots and Rural/Large City Lots.

The allowable for winterization of a steam heat system is now $150 for all states in the jurisdiction.
