FHLMC Assistance Offered to Sellers Holding Closed Mortgages in Areas Affected by Hurricane Katrina

FHLMC announced new measures to assist Freddie Mac Sellers with closed single-family mortgages secured by properties in the Major Disaster Areas qualifying for Individual Assistance as designated by FEMA because of Hurricane Katrina .

These measures provide immediate assistance for Sellers who are unable to make the required representations and warranties regarding value, condition and marketability of the mortgaged premises, or uninsured flood damage
