Fannie Mae Hurricane Relief Webpage

In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Fannie Mae issued directives and updates to its natural disaster procedures.

Fannie Mae has now consolidated all their Hurricanes Katrina and Rita information into one area on their website, titled "Hurricane Relief".

This online resource center provides accesto the following

  • Recent Lender Letter and Announcement on natural disaster procedures,
  • Free online access via AllRegs to the Chapter in Fannie Mae's Servicing Guide on assisting in natural disasters and special relief measures our servicer are delegated to use in helping borrowers.
  • Special contacts to discuss specific circumstances and unique situations,
  • Geographic maps with color-coding to indicate the general levels of damage in the Gulf Coast, Mississippi, and New Orleans areas, and 

Included is the latest release that it will extend the same mortgage relief provisions in place for borrowers facing hardship as a result of Hurricane Katrina to those in areas impacted by Hurricane Rita. This release can be found by clicking on the following link.
