FHLMC Special Hurricane Relief Webpage

In the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, FHLMC issued a number of directives and updates to its Disaster Relief Policies.

FHLMC has now consolidated all their Hurricanes Katrina and Rita information into one area on their website, titled "Special Hurricane Relief". This webpage includes newly released information and specifies what policies apply to the areas designated by FEMA as either "Individual", "Individual & Public" or strictly "Public" Assistance.

Including;

a) Overall instructions and guidance  - (Freddie Mac Disaster Relief Policies , Additional Reporting Instructions, Understand FEMA Designations, Obtain FEMA Designations

b) Measures for "Individual Assistance" and "Individual & Public Assistance" areas for Hurricanes Katrina and Rita - (Mortgage Payment Relief  and Release of Hazard Insurance Proceeds )

c) Measures for "Individual Assistance" and "Individual & Public Assistance" Areas for Hurricane Katrina ONLY - (Requirements for Closed Mortgages in Areas Affected by Hurricane Katrina)

d) Measures for "Public Assistance" Areas - (Release of Hazard Insurance Proceeds and Relief Measures for Other Borrowers)

e) Additional Measures for Borrowers NOT in a Major Disaster Area (MDA) declared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) but Indirectly Impacted - ( Relief Measures for Other Borrowers, Servicemembers, National Guard Members )
