Mississippi Provides Foreclosure Relief to Hurricane Katrina Victims

The Governor of Mississippi has issued a proclamation providing Mississippi victims of Hurricane Katrina additional protections when facing foreclosure. A key component of the proclamation allows a borrower to negotiate a payment plan in court in lieu of foreclosure. This proclamation is effective immediately and will remain in effect for a period of 2 years.
