USFN Western Regional Default Servicing Seminar
Friday, 21 March 2003

As you may be aware, the USFN will be hosting the Western Regional Default Servicing Seminar at Paradise Point Resort & Spa April 9th through 11th, 2003 in San Diego, CA.

For this conference, the USFN has dedicated the following two sessions to address preservation issues:

  • Conventional P&P Issues: 8:15 a.m. Thursday April 10th
  • HUD P&P Issues: 3:15 p.m. Thursday April 10th

The Conventional P&P session at 8:15 a.m. will review any new VA, FNMA, and FHLMC preservation releases and general preservation and protection issues. We anticipate having representatives from the VA, FNMA ,and FHLMC participating in the session.

The HUD session at 3:15 p.m. will focus on review and discussion of the current Mortgagee Letters relating to Property Inspections and Preservation (ML 2002-10 and 2002-19) .

Representatives from HUD and other investors will participate in this session and be on-hand to answer questions relating to inspection and preservation issues. In addition, we anticipate that representatives from three M&M HUD contractors (First Preston, Golden Feather, and MC&B) will also participate in the sessions.

I have attached for your review a proposed agenda of issues that can be discussedhttp://209.238.252.48/education/#western and have been reviewed in previous USFN conference sessions.

We are currently in the process of establishing the panel for these sessions. Servicers are invited and encouraged to participate as panelists to discuss the changes in the investor/insurer guidelines and general preservation requirements.

If you are attending the conference and are interested in participating as a panelist, please let me know, and I will add you to the panel.

Once the panel has been established, we will hold a conference call before the seminar to finalize the discussion agenda.

If you are not able to attend the conference or the sessions and have issues or questions you would like raised at the conference, please forward those to me via e-mail at robert.klein@safeguardproperties.com and I will have them added to the agenda.
