The St. Bernard Parish Council has set an August 29th deadline to have properties gutted and secured.

This includes properties scheduled for demolition.

Included in the press release;

"Parish officials emphasized that property owners must cut their grass whether they intend to return or not. "

"Council member Craig Taffaro Jr. said the Aug. 29 deadline requires owners to secure the houses not being demolished by "making the exterior of the house presentable with doors and windows. We're not allowing properties to be boarded up."
