Local Ordinance from Suffolk County
Sunday, 05 October 2003

Please see the following summary of the  City Ordinance recently received by one of our clients from Suffolk County in New York.

Date: Fri, 3 Oct 2003

This memo is dated November 1998.  It was distributed to notify mortgage holders that Suffolk County's Local Law 2 of 1989 (Local Law to Abate Crack Houses) had been amended by Local Law 10 of 1998.  The amendment simply stated that, in addition to notifying home owners of record that prohibited activity had occurred, the County would also provide "First Notice" to mortgage holders.  The amendment further stated that "Final Notice" would be sent to property owners and mortgage holders if there was a recurrence of prohibited activity within two years of the "First Notice," where Local Law 2 had said "within one year [emphasis added]."

The legislation attached to the memo is Local Law 2 of 1989.
