The issue of Safeguard BPO users receiving alerts regarding secure site certificates has to do with the way Internet Explorer handles intermediate certificates. All certificates in the "chain" must validate properly or a warning is displayed. Because IE stores (caches) intermediate certs, sometimes expired certificates can remain on the user's system.
To fix: choose Start -> Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Content tab -> Certificates... and in the Certificates pop-up window, click Intermediate Certification Authorities tab. This displays a list of the intermediate certs stored on the system. The user should select any expired certs (as shown in the Expiration Date column) and click "Remove" to clear them out. Subsequent requests for the page will retrieve a new certificate from the intermediate authority, clearing the warning.
